KETERANGAN:

Akar ginseng yang asalnya tumbuhan liar kini mula ditanam di halaman rumah sebagai tumbuhan hiasan dan tumbuhan ulam yang mempunyai khasiat perubatan.

 

KEGUNAAN:

Mengikut kajian saintifik kandungan kimia dan morfologi tumbuhan ini menyamai ginseng Korea dan Cina.

Daunnya yang dijadikan ulam dapat menambahkan selera makan dan meningkatkan kecerdasan badan. Ia juga dapat menambahkan air susu bagi ibu yang sedang menyusukan anak. Akarnya pula boleh meredakan masalah batuk dan masalah paru-paru yang lain seperti asma. Daunnya yang ditumbuk halus dan dicampurkan dengan sedikit gula merah boleh digunakan untuk merawat bisul dengan cara menampalnya pada bisul tersebut

Masyarakat Melayu di Malaysia terutamanya di Kelantan menjadikan akar ginseng sebagai ulam mentah. Kaum Cina juga memanfaatkan tumbuhan ini dengan menggorengkan sebagai sayur.

DESCRIPTION:

Talinum Paniculatum Gaertn, which is known as Ginseng root, is initially a wild herb that is now more widely planted in home gardens as ornamental plants and for its medicinal benefits.

 

USAGE:

According to scientific researches, the chemical and morphological containments that this plant carries is similar to that of the Korean and Chinese Ginseng.

Its leaves, which is usually eaten as dish as it is, are able to increase the body’s appetite and boost its fitness as well. It can also accumulate the amount of breast milk more for the breast-feeding mothers. While the roots are capable of relieving cough problems as well as other lung diseases like asthma. The leaves can be crushed and added some red sugar to be used as a remedy for curing abscess by applying the leaves on the infected area.

The Malay society in Malaysia, specifically in Kelantan, makes the Ginseng Root as a side dish to eat as it is. The Chinese people has also been benefiting this herb by frying it with vegetables.
